Description

Are you an empathetic Occupational Therapist who has experience in Paediatrics?

Pulse is now seeking an Occupational Therapist to work within a Paediatric service at an innovative private trust, in Durham. The post is available to start as soon as possible, with part-time hours and full-time hours negotiable in a permanent role.

As part of a multi-disciplinary clinical team, you will be supporting educational and residential colleagues to provide therapeutic living and learning environments and, based on clinical assessment and formulation, offer individualised interventions and engagement to our young people. to undertake high-quality assessments of children and young people and make recommendations about appropriate therapeutic interventions for each young person, in accordance with individually assessed needs.

Some duties within this post will include:

  • Ensuring that young people are prepared for the transition to adult life
  • Fine motor assessments
  • Managing own caseload efficiently
  • Treating patients with complex needs, learning difficulties or biomechanical problems
  • Liaising with other healthcare professionals

Skills and experience needed:

  • Relevant degree/qualifications in occupational therapy
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Previous experience working within a Paediatric service – Ideally NHS
  • Encouraging attitude
  • Ability to think outside the box
  • Be compassionate and empathetic
  • Good teamwork skills
