Pulse Nursing are looking for Neonatal Nurses in the Oxford area. We believe great things begin with great people. You will be required to support the unit by providing a high standard of care for each individual newborn, support their families and assess their care needs. 

Pulse Nursing are offering flexible shifts in the Oxford area with escalated rates between £28.50 – £44.38 per hour, with a range of shifts available including long days, earlies, lates, nights and twilights.

Neonatal Nurse responsibilities includes: 

  • NICU – looking after babies from extremely premature neonates, term neonates who have had difficult deliveries and babies with antenatally diagnosed conditions.
  • A baby in NICU may require invasive respiratory support from a ventilator and complex medications
  • Neonatal High Dependency HDU – looking after premature and term babies who do not need intensive care. Extremely premature babies who are cared for in NICU will eventually move to HDU when they are well enough.
  • Babies can be cared for in HDU on non-invasive respiratory support, feeding and fluid support and as well as for other neonatal therapies such as phototherapy for jaundice.
  • Neonatal Low Dependency Unit (LDU) – looking after babies who no longer need ITU or HDU levels of care.
  • Babies cared for in LDU may require feeding and growing support, as well as long-term respiratory support that can continue at home.

Neonatal Nurse Role Requirements: 

  • Valid NMC registration
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a Neonatal setting 
  • To meet the compliance requirements of both the NHS and private sector
  • Right to work within the UK – proof will be required 
  • QIS (Qualified in Specialty) is not required
