Junior Sister / Charge Nurse (Oncology-Haematology Outpatients Unit)

Location: Central London, UK

Salary: £39,193 – £45,925 (annual) depending on experience
£2,000 ‘Golden Hello’*

Role: Permanent, Full-time position

 

Pulse Nursing is currently recruiting for a Junior Sister / Charge Nurse to join one of London’s largest private organisations in Oncology-Haematology Outpatients!

The impressive clinic has 74 consulting rooms, 10 operating theatres consisting of a hybrid theatre and 2 invasive/day surgery theatres, a level 3 intensive care unit, 181 overnight beds and 59 daybeds. The Oncology-Haematology Outpatients Unit comprises of 22 individual areas for outpatient treatment. You will be focused on facilitating the provision of an outpatient service to patients who attend for day case chemotherapy and related treatments and/or consultant appointments.

They are looking for a full-time permanent position to be filled! Shifts will be Monday – Friday, 9:30am – 17:30pm.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for delivery of high standards service and care to all patients
  • Be competent in the recognition of life threatening and’/or oncology emergencies and act appropriately
  • Organise workload in line with clinical priorities
  • Work in a multidisciplinary team, ensuring all staff and focused on holistic patient care
  • Follow all policies and procedures in line with clinic and NMC
  • Act as a role model providing leadership to the wider team and supporting student nurses as junior staff within the unit
  • Participate in performance review and appraisal meetings, ensuring the unit is of high standards
  • Act as deputy in absence of unit manager and deputy manager

You need to be:

  • NMC Registered
  • Have a post registration course in Chemotherapy Administration/SACT Chemo sign-off is advantageous but not essential as full training is provided
  • Have previous experience of working in a UK acute hospital setting with oncology
  • Previous IV drug administration experience
