Description

Our client is now seeking a Dysphagia trained Speech and Language Therapist to join their Intensive Care unit within a well-established private practice based in London. The role is available to start as soon as possible, in a permanent role.

The Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist will assess, treat and manage their own caseload and provide highly specialist speech and language therapy skills to patients with speech, language and swallowing problems within the Intensive Care area. This role will provide assessment and therapy provision to the Intensive Care Unit, with support to the neurosciences wards, including Neuro-Rehabilitation and Neurosurgery as required, as well as working within the wider therapy team providing speech and language therapy expertise.

Duties within this role:

  • Managing own caseload
  • Assessment and evaluation of patient progress
  • Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of patient care programmes
  • Giving advice and support to patients and family members
  • Voice OP experience
  • Experience with VF and FEES – desirable

To be considered for this role you must:

  • Dysphagia trained – essential
  • Hold the relevant degree/qualifications
