Deputy Manager – Short Breaks Service (Band 6)

Permanent, Full time

Grade: Band 6

Salary: £41,544 – £50,030 BAR £51,647 – £56,090 per annum

Location: Guernsey

Working unsocial hours on a Saturday, Sunday or Public Holiday or on weekdays between 8pm and 6am will attract payment at an enhanced rate as follows: Monday to Friday 8:00pm – 06:00am – 40%; Saturday – 40%; Sunday and Bank Holidays – 80%

Pulse is working with the Channel Islands largest provider of health care. Our client is seeking a Deputy Manager to join their team as part of the Children and Family Community Services.

The successful applicant will offer high standard of care to the Short Break Services, providing customized care packages for kids with various disabilities, acting as a role model to less experienced staff. By building a theoretical knowledge basis for the care of kids with various physical and learning difficulties, you will be able to provide individualized care based on best practice principles.

Requirements

  • NMC registered nurse
  • Evidence of CPD at diploma/degree level
  • Experience in learning disability and knowledge of child development
  • Leadership management training desirable
  • Child protection lead training desirable

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessment of service users for those who require complex care
  • Create, implement and assess care plans to address complex care requirements
  • Initiate risk assessment processes
  • Lead a team of staff in emergency acute situations
  • Promote health and wellbeing of service users and their families
  • Contribute to recruitment and retention of team members
