Deputy Manager – Mental health
£41,475- £47,922
Location: West Sussex
Pulse is working alongside a leading independent service provider care for people with mental illnesses in West Sussex. This service has a male high dependency unit, female low secure unit and a specialist personality disorder unit. You will be helping people improve their health and wellbeing so they can live a happier and more independent life.
This vacancy is for a deputy manager. Working as a deputy manager you will provide senior nursing leadership to the ward nursing team in support of the Ward Manager.
We are keen to speak with a Deputy manager with clinical and senior leadership experience and experience of working within behavioural care.
Job role
This role involves offering knowledge and reassurance to the nursing team and ward. Taking on delegated responsibilities from the Ward Manager while managing and supervising the staff. Providing a safe and therapeutic environment for the patients. Applying relevant policies and statutory requirement in the ward and hospital framework and completing risk assessments.
Requirements
- NMC registration
- Minimums 18 Months to 2 years’ experience post-registration
- It is essential that the candidate is IT literate with desirable experience of using a range of software
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development and intent to maintain this
- Experience within a clinical specialty

- Regular working hours of 12.5-hour shifts day and nights, 07:30-20:00 or 19:30-08:00. Working 3 days on 4 days off or 4 days off 3 days on.
