Are you an empathetic Occupational Therapist who has experience within Paediatrics?
Pulse is now seeking a band 6 Community Occupational Therapist to work within a paediatric service at an innovative NHS trust in Hertfordshire. The post is available to start as soon as possible, for a 3 month period. To be considered for this role applying therapists must have previous experience of working within a paediatric setting. You will be working with a varied caseload of children who have complex needs.
Specific Skills:
- Candidates must have experience working in the community and with children
- Post holder must have a valid UK Driving Licence and access to their own vehicle
- To provide a specialist Occupational Therapy assessment, treatment, intervention and advice service for children with a variety of learning and physical disabilities, associated sensory and communication difficulties.
- This may include working within the Child Development Centres, mainstream and special schools, nurseries and play groups, families’ homes and visits to other services such as the wheelchair clinic.
- The post holder will assess and be responsible for all aspects of a child’s or young person’s Occupational Therapy needs including housing adaptations as part of a fully integrated Occupational Therapy Service with the opportunity to draw on specialist knowledge and skills from the Highly Specialist Band 7 OTs and Band 8 Clinical Quality Lead for OT.
- To provide a specialist Occupational Therapy service as part of the multidisciplinary team, working with other health, education and social care professionals and to effectively manage own caseload.
- To supervise and mentor student occupational therapists in children’s services and supervise junior members of staff.
- To participate and contribute to the evaluation and development of the Children’s Occupational Therapy Service.
