Description

Pulse is currently seeking a band 8a Psychologist with excellent interpersonal skills, to join our fantastic NHS client’s CAMHS team based in York. This vacancy is available to start as soon as possible, offering full-time hours for an ongoing period.

The appointed Clinical Psychologist would work within a generic CAMHS team, providing assessments and therapy to children with mild to moderate mental health issues. The successful psychologist would work within a multi-disciplinary team alongside Occupational Therapists, CBT Therapists, Psychiatrists and Registered Mental Health nurses. The Psychologist in post will also work closely with non-psychological professionals, advising on best psychological care. Understanding of neurodiversity presentations, attachment disorder and trauma including PTSD would be helpful, ability to deliver evidence-based interventions in a community setting.

The role will involve working closely with clinicians/practitioners as part of a multi-disciplinary team and with community CAMHS services across Humber, Coast and Vale. The post-holder will contribute to service users’ care directly via specialist psychological assessment, formulation and intervention, and indirectly by providing advice and consultation to colleagues both within and outside of the service.

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Hold a doctorate in either Clinical or Counselling Psychology
  • Have full vaccination against COVID-19
  • Be HCPC registered
  • Have a proven track record in a CAMHS environment
  • Be analytical and show good attention to detail
