Description

Pulse is seeking a determined Band 8a Clinical/counselling Psychologist to be welcomed into our client’s Bariatric health team within a fantastic NHS service based in London. This position will be available for the assigned Clinical Psychologist to start as soon as possible, working full-time hours for an initial period of 3 months with the possibility of extension.

The post holder will work as part of the specialist bariatric psychology team and the wider multidisciplinary team – which includes consultant surgeons, specialist medical physicians, nurses, dietitians, and physiotherapists – to support people in preparing for and adjusting to a surgical weight loss intervention. You will be part of the Trust’s thriving and well-established bariatric service. The postholder will provide a range of specialist psychological assessments, formulation, and brief interventions with pre-operative and post-operative patients in primarily outpatient clinics

as well as inpatient wards. Develop the provision of psychological services within the multi-disciplinary team, including maintaining good working relationships with other clinical and social care staff.

Skills and experience:

  • HCPC registration
  • Full professional qualification in Psychology (Doctorate)
  • Experience of working with CAMHS
  • Experience of working with eating disorders/Weight Management
