Band 7 – Physiotherapist – Intermediate Care – London

Pulse is seeking to recruit an empathetic and caring Band 7 Occupational Therapist to work within the Intermediate Care Service at an innovative NHS trust located within London. This placement is available for the appointed Occupational Therapist to start as soon as possible, offering full-time hours per week required until the end of December.

The ideal Occupational Therapist will provide a high quality, specialist occupational therapy services to patients with a wide range of conditions referred to intermediate care, this will include patients referred from the acute trust, GPs, LAS and NHS111.  The care is delivered in patient’s home in a timely manner to avoid hospital attendances/admissions.

Physiotherapists applying for this role must have:

• A relevant qualification within Occupational Therapy
• Previous NHS experience within an Intermediate care setting
• HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist
• Excellent communication and motivational skills
• Be compassionate and have the ability to build rapport with patients
• Good time management skills

Duties will include:

• Admission prevention and supported discharge
• Intermediate care in bedded units
• Rehabilitation following a fall
• Assessment of client progress
• Supporting clients and family members with advice
