Band 7 – Lead Occupational Therapist – Eating Disorders/Acute Mental Health – Preston

Our private client is currently seeking a Band 7 Lead Occupational Therapist to join their Eating Disorders and Acute Mental Health service, based in Lancashire. The post is available to start as soon as possible, offer both full-time and part-time hours on a permanent basis.

The successful Occupational Therapist will work closely with the Eating Disorder Therapy Lead/Ward Manager in developing comprehensive Therapeutic programmes in line with the service line standards across the hospital, covering both eating disorder and acute services. The applying candidates will ideally have 2 years qualified experience, and must show excellent skills of independent working, pro activity and organisation. A degree of weekend working is preferable however this would be negotiable.

Rates: £38,000 – £44,000 plus a £3000 welcome bonus.

To be considered for this role applying therapist’s must:

• HCPC registration
• Relevant qualifications within Occupational Therapy
• Previous experience of working with adults with eating disorder’s
• Have the ability to develop a rapport with patients
• Encourage and build confidence in others

Key responsibilities will include:

• To manage a caseload of clients with complex needs, using evidence based /client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate group and individual interventions.
• To provide outcome-oriented group and individual occupation-focused interventions.
• To provide safe, effective, quality OT interventions that ensure positive client experience.
• To assist with carer interventions.
• To provide leadership for junior staff, through supervision and appraisal.
• To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of OT services within the eating disorders service, holding responsibility for defined projects
• To provide interventions within other parts of the eating disorders services if required
• To provide cover within the out-patients, day patient and in-patient settings as required
