Are you an Occupational Therapist who specialises in Neurology?

Our NHS client is looking for an experienced and caring Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join their Neuro Rehab team, based in London. The post is available to start as soon as possible, offering full-time hours with the placement due to end on 18.08.23.

The appointed Therapist will provide a high quality, efficient Occupational Therapy service to patients with a wide range of physical, neurological, and medical conditions referred to the in-patient rehabilitation unit. The postholder will primarily work with neurological rehabilitation patients, however you will also work with general medical patients alongside this as necessary.

Applying therapists must have previous experience within physical health at Band 5 level as well as previous experience in neurology, acute medicine, respiratory, and elderly care. Previous neuro moving and handing skills are also desired but not essential for this role.

 To be considered for this role you must:

·        Be HCPC registered as an Occupational Therapist

·        Hold the relevant degree/qualifications in Occupational Therapy

·        Have previous experience within an NHS neuro setting

·        Hold a full driver’s licence and have own vehicle

·        Be able to develop a rapport with patients

·        Have excellent time management and communication skills

Duties within this role will include:

·        Carrying out brain injury assessments

·        Working within a multidisciplinary team

·        Providing support for carers and family – advice on care plans after discharge

·        Setting realistic client centred goals to help with development

·        Neuro splinting and casting
