Band 6 – Occupational Therapist – Neurological Rehabilitation – Bedford

Are you an Occupational Therapist who specialises in Neurological Rehabilitation?

Our private client is looking for an experienced and caring Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join their Neuro/Rehab team, based in Bedford. The post is available to start as soon as possible, offering part-time hours on a permanent basis.

The post holder will provide a specialist neurorehabilitation service to clients with acquired brain injury within a multidisciplinary team. This includes providing information and advice to other professionals and carers. The post holder will be expected to participate in the development and monitoring of services in conjunction with the team. This may involve assisting in induction and supervision of unqualified staff, and education of OT and work experience students, when appropriate

Rates: £34,400 per annum

To be considered for this role you must:

• Be HCPC registered as an Occupational Therapist
• Hold the relevant degree/qualifications in Occupational Therapy
• Have previous experience within an NHS neuro setting
• Hold a full driver’s licence and have own vehicle
• Be able to develop a rapport with patients
• Have excellent time management and communication skills
• Have at least 3 years post graduate experience

Duties within this role will include:

• Carrying out brain injury assessments
• Working within a multidisciplinary team
• Providing support for carers and family – advice on care plans after discharge
• Setting realistic client centred goals to help with development
• Neuro splinting and casting
