An opportunity has arisen for an empathetic Band 6 Occupational Therapist to be welcomed into our clients NHS trust based in Ilford, Essex. The trust are offering full-time hours per week for with the placement due to end on 03.11.23.

The appointed Occupational Therapist will assess the occupational needs of a defined patient group and establish and evaluate appropriate treatment plans. This includes chronic, acute and palliative care within own competencies, recognising own limitations and seeking advice when necessary. The postholder will select and apply occupational therapy assessments for a designated caseload, addressing occupational performance and skill deficits, enabling patients in the areas of productivity, self and leisure. Applying therapists should have previous experience working within an intermediate care setting to be considered for this role.

To be considered for this role applying Occupational Therapists must have:

  • Be HCPC registered as an Occupational therapist
  • Hold a relevant qualification in Occupational therapy
  • Previous NHS experience within an intermediate care setting
  • The ability to build good rapport with patients
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Duties within this role will include:

  • Devising rehabilitation programmes to develop skills
  • Writing clear and concise notes
  • Working autonomously
  • Dealing with equipment to assist with daily living
  • Providing advice for carers and parents
