Are you an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist who has previous forensic experience?
Pulse is seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our client’s Forensic Mental Health services at an innovative NHS trust based in Maidstone, Kent. The role is available for the appointed OT to start as soon as possible offering full-time hours per week for an ongoing period.
The appointed Occupational Therapist will be carrying out the assessment and treatment of offenders with mental health conditions, the low secure unit provides 20 inpatient beds for men. The postholder will identify, develop, and provide the Occupational Therapy contribution within the multi-disciplinary service in accordance with the needs of service users and the requirements of the service. The successful Occupational Therapist will also manage a defined caseload of service users with occupational needs using evidence based, service user centred, hope and recovery, health promotion and relapse prevention orientated principles and practice.
Skills and experience needed:
- Current HCPC registration
- Relevant degree/qualifications in occupational therapy
- Previous experience working within Forensic/Mental health
- Forensic and Low Secure Unit experience
- Demonstrate good problem-solving skills
- Ability to think outside the box
- Ability to build trust with patients
