Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our fantastic NHS client’s acute and rehabilitation wards based in Wick, Caithness. This vacancy is available for the successful therapist to start as soon as possible, offering full time hours per week for with the placement due to finish up to the end of December 2023.

The post covers the acute and rehabilitation wards along with the Emergency Dept, and Hospital at home. The post holder will manage a caseload using evidence-based practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate intervention. The post requires the successful candidate to work with patients with a wide variety of conditions and presentations including stroke rehab, and supporting Occupational Therapy Assts.

Skills and experience needed:

  • Previous experience within acute settings
  • Previous discharge planning and Oncology experience
  • Relevant degree/qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registration

Duties will include:

  • Care-coordinating
  • Attending MDT meetings
  • Contribute to the holistic assessment of physical and mental wellbeing needs.
  • Assessment and intervention of individual patients needs and progress.
  • Treating patients for a range of moderate to complex mental health conditions
  • Working with other healthcare professionals
