Are you an empathetic Occupational Therapist with a keen interest in mental health?
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 5 Mental Health Occupational Therapist to join our fantastic NHS client in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. This vacancy is available to start as soon as possible, offering full-time hours per week in a locum role for an ongoing period. As this is a band 5 position, our client will also welcome Newly Qualified Occupational Therapists as well as experienced candidates.
The postholder will conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to identify clients’ strengths, challenges, and goals as well as collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Applying therapists should have previous experience within a similar setting for this role.
Duties will include:
- Care-coordinating
- Attending MDT meetings
- Contribute to the holistic assessment of physical and mental wellbeing needs.
- Assessment and intervention of individual patients needs and progress.
- Treating patients for a range of moderate to complex mental health conditions
- Working with other healthcare professionals
The Successful Candidate should be/have:
- A registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council)
- They need to have experience of working in mental health due to the complex nature of the patients.
- An understanding of Occupational Therapy process/interventions and can take a “hands on” approach
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Ability to manage highly demanding clinical presentation
