Pulse is recruiting for an exciting opportunity that our client has available for a qualified band 5 Family Therapist, to join a fantastic NHS Trust in Birmingham. This post is available for the family therapist to start as soon as possible, working part-time hours each week for an ongoing period.  

 

We are looking for empathetic and respectful person with proven experience working with complex family dynamics and high levels of risks. The appointed therapist will be part of a multidisciplinary team undertaking a range of CAMHS assessments and interventions. Additionally, therapists may be asked to occasionally offer consultation under the guidance of the Lead Family and Systemic Psychotherapist.

 

The post holder will be expected to:

 

  • Provide specialist family therapy assessment and treatment for patients 0-25 and their families, with eating disorder and mental health conditions.
  • Provide consultation to the multi-disciplinary team bringing a systemic perspective to all aspects of the work of the eating disorder team.
  • Work autonomously and as a member of specialist multi-disciplinary team providing generic and specialist systemic psychotherapy assessments, therapy, care planning and interventions.
  • Carry own family therapy caseload.
  • Provide evidence-based FT treatment for patients/parents/families individually and via group settings.

 

Applying family therapists must have:

  • Previous CAMHS experience
  • UKCP accreditation
  • Hold a diploma qualification in family therapy (post- graduate level)
  • Strong observational and listening skills
  • The ability to work well as a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Good organisational skills
