Description

Pulse is currently seeking an empathetic band 6 or 7 Speech Language Therapist with Dysphagia experience to join a fantastic team based in Leicestershire. This position is available for the appointed speech therapist to start as soon as possible, offering full-time and part-time hours per week in a permanent role.

As a Speech and Language therapist within the service, you would be working as part of a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language and clinical psychologist, with medical input.

Some main duties will include: 

  • To provide a speech and language (SLT) assessment, advice and treatment of service.
  • To work compassionately with service users and carers to achieve identified goals and to promote independence and well-being, within a person-centred framework.
  • To manage a defined caseload of patients, responding to referrals.
  • To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of the SLT service within a designated team.
  • To provide expertise in dysphagia and communication and to offer advice and consultation on clients care to other members of the team and external agencies.
  • To work within the professional practice and guidelines.
  • To work and act as a key member of the team, supporting each patient in the achievement of their planned outcomes and goals.

To be considered for this role you must: 

  • Have previous experience working with dysphagia patients, complex needs and AAC. 
  • Be HCPC registered 
  • Hold the relevant degree/qualifications within speech therapy
  • Showcase excellent communication skills and a person-centred approach
  • Be empathetic and caring, with a passion to help patients that have a range of speech therapy disorders
