We are currently seeking a band 6/7 pharmacist to work within a prison setting, based in East Sussex.  This role is available for the appointed candidate to start as soon as possible, working full time hours  until April 2020 with possibility to extend.

Due to this role being based within a prison, applying candidates must be prison cleared or willing to go through clearance if not. In addition to this, candidates must also hold an in date enhanced DBS. Your main responsibilities will include covering dispensary and wing rounds.

Some duties will include:

  • Assembling and labelling of dispensed prescriptions
  • Dispensing of prescriptions
  • Weekly controlled drugs stock checks
  • Ensuring standards are followed when accuracy checking
  • Provide a medicines management service to the allocated prison on a weekly basis
  • Patient counselling on their medication
  • Oversee the ordering/supply of repeat prescriptions

To be considered for this role you must:

  • Hold the relevant degree/qualifications
  • Be GPhC registered
  • Have prison clearance/willing to go through clearance
  • Previous experience in medicines management or prison pharmacy work
