How do I apply for a position at King’s Critical Care?

Is the position permanent?

Yes, the Band 5 Critical Care nursing jobs are full-time permanent positions.

Is there any training involved?

Training is key to succeeding in your new role at King’s!

  • Your first week will consist of mandatory online training and practical patient handling, then you will be introduced to the critical care unit for your hospital induction.
  • The following 3-4 weeks will be your clinical supernumerary period.
  • Whilst in your role you will work towards completing the Band 5 critical care education pathway, which has been designed to prepare you for a successful career in critical care.

I’ve never worked in Critical Care before, does this matter?

No, all we ask is that you have a current adult NMC registration (a PIN), a minimum of six months recent acute hospital experience as a UK registered nurse and a passion for critical care nursing!

What does the interview process involve?

Currently, interviews are being held on Microsoft teams. It will take one hour and you will be asked competency and scenario-based questions.
