CPD for Psychological Therapists

At Pulse, we’re committed to helping you succeed in your career and want to ensure that you have access to a wide variety of free, high-quality training. If you’re interested in learning more about CPD and our upcoming opportunities for psychological therapists, read on below and save your spot at our next event.

What is CPD and why is it important?

CPD (Continuing professional development) in psychological therapy is fundamental for ensuring you can practice safely and effectively. It requires you to update your knowledge and skills regularly to match the changing complexity of healthcare needs and allows you to improve your skills to enhance your future career prospects.

As well as ensuring you remain fit to practice and progress your career, you must be able to demonstrate a commitment to CPD to maintain your professional registration with most professional bodies. This includes the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the National Counselling Society (NCS), UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), and many more.

What are the different types of CPD?

CPD combines different learning methods, including training courses, seminars, workshops and conferences, webinars, and online eLearning programs. CPD can also include sharing best practice techniques, thoughts, and ideas, all focused on you improving within your dedicated field.

What CPD opportunities are available with Pulse?

We want to give you every chance to excel in your career and understand that learning and development are essential to your progression. That’s why we regularly partner with some of the industry’s leading training providers to run a wide range of free CPD events, allowing you to learn from the best in your field.
