Using the TempRE portal

Welcome to the user guide for TempRE, the direct engagement portal you will be using to submit your timesheets and get paid. The TempRE portal is also where you can access your payslips and information about the NHS Pension Scheme, which you are now eligible to receive.

How to get started on TempRE 

Before you start using TempRE, a login will be created for you. Once this has been done, you will receive an email from the TempRE system with a link to finalise creating your account. When you log in for the first time, you will have tasks to complete which includes a contract, pension and tax questions.

Using the TempRE portal

Understanding how to use the TempRE online portal has been made simple with a step-by-step video tutorial, created by TempRE.  For further support and to access more video tutorials, you can access TempRE’s award-winning help system directly from the TempRE web application. When you’re within TempRE platform, click ‘Help’.

First time logging in

Key information

When do I submit my timesheets and receive my pay?

Please ensure your hours are uploaded for your manager to approve prior to 9am on Monday morning. If approved on that Monday, you will receive your pay for those hours on Friday of the same week.   

Ensuring you are on the correct tax code
To ensure you are on the correct tax code, please complete the HMRC starter form and return to us via the relevant email address below. This is the best way to ensure you are on the correct tax code and therefore, paying the correct amount of tax.

Don’t forget your first week appraisal form

Once you have commenced working with the trust, we require you to complete our First shift appraisal form. This needs to be submitted within the first week of your placement.

NHS pension scheme

For all PAYE direct engagement assignments via TempRE, eligible temporary workers are contractually entitled to membership of the NHS Pension Scheme and therefore will be auto-enrolled into the scheme automatically.  Detailed information on pensions is available within the TempRE platform, just click ‘Help’ to access it.

Please be informed, if you do opt-in to the NHS pension scheme this will reduce your pay rate and your contract of employment will indicate the pay rate difference. Please refer to the information we have provided here regarding the NHS pension below. If you have any questions regarding the pension scheme, please reach out us before selecting the options in TempRE in order to avoid any issues with payment.
