Pulse have an opportunity for an Occupational Therapist with a passion for working with the elderly population.

We are currently working with a highly regarded and prestigious residential home in South London.

With its own onsite theatre, residents shop, café, GP and dentist surgery and beautiful landscaped gardens , the home is known for its quality care and dedicated service to its residents in hotel style surroundings.

As part of the Multi-disciplinary team you will be required to work alongside other healthcare professionals to provide the highest standard therapy and service to residents.

The OT will need to be confident in Assessing new residents on admission, Plan Occupational therapy based interventions  and treatments needs.

The role requires you to:

Review residents needs after internal bedroom transfers or change of medical status

Encourage residents to to realise and maintain their potential

Be responsible for provisions of aids, equipment, practice and treatment

Record and present findings

Carry out checks on equipment

Carry out Falls Prevention Assessments

Carry out seating assessments and postural management for wheelchairs and static chairs

Take part in therapy team meetings

 

The ideal candidate will have experience working with the elderly population and experience working with in a dementia service would be particularly advantageous.
