Phlebotomy Training UK
PULSE work in conjunction with a recognised UK Phlebotomy Trainer and courses are available throughout the UK.
The courses are suitable for those who have never worked in a clinical environment, for healthcare and other clinical workers seeking to acquire new skills and/or for practising phlebotomists who want to learn advanced techniques or update their skills.
The training courses will provide you with the basic and advanced skills required for this developing profession as well as a qualification that has the backing of an educational body "The Open College Network", which is one of the first of its kind in the UK.
Types of courses run are:
Basic Phlebotomy
- Accredited with: The Open College Network North East
- This accredited two day course covers the basic skills required to become a phlebotomist.
- Candidates require no previous experience.
- The course will prepare the learner for phlebotomy work in a clinical environment.
Advanced Phlebotomy for Practitioners
- Accredited with: The Open College Network North East This accredited one day course covers advanced techniques of Phlebotomy.
- Candidates need to be practising phlebotomist or other health care professionals who are working in a suitable clinical environment.
Practical Experience for Practitioners In House - Only on request
- Candidates must provide evidence of Hepatitis B cover prior to undertaking this session.
- Candidates will have the opportunity to work in a professional clinical environment, obtaining bloods using the techniques which were acquired during the basic phlebotomy practitioners course.
- A Certificate of Competency will be given to successful learners.
