Funding
If you or a relative or friend needs care and support with everyday living, it is important to know about some of the new ways that you can access those services. Local authorities and the NHS are recognising that by offering people their own budgets, they can have more choice and control over the health and support services they receive.
PULSE Community Healthcare can help with this process by working with service users to assess their needs. We engage with the different authorities that may be involved, for example:
- NHS Primary Care Trust (PCT) teams
- Case Managers
- Local Authorities and Social Services teams
- Solicitors
- Insurance companies
- Voluntary and third sector organisations
Additionally we work directly with clients controlling their own budgets. We help agree a plan of support to meet needs within the agreed personal budget or funding allocation.
Other funding sources
Many people are not aware of the social services and NHS funding that is available to live independently. We can offer support in finding what financial support each service user maybe entitled to receive. For example, funding available includes help with going to college, with getting a job and with day to day living costs such as:
- Housing Benefit/Local Housing Allowance to pay the rent for your accommodation
- Income Support and Disabled Living Allowance - to pay for food, clothing and transport
When you have your personal budget from a local authority or PCT, you may choose to arrange the support and other services yourself, or you may do this with the local authority or PCT.
PULSE Community Healthcare will work with you to give as much control over your own life as possible, as well as giving you the support that you need to live your life in the way that you want.
