PULSE@Home nurses offer specialist experience in paediatric care and complex conditions providing from respite to long term care.
Ask any child where they would like to be cared for they will tell you that home is best. Care at home keeps disruption to the family routine to a minimum, and the familiar surroundings, often near to brothers and sisters, help each child to rest and recover at their own pace.
Specialist knowledge
PULSE can provide expert specialist nursing support whether a baby or child has a chronic illness or is very sick and in need of intensive care around the clock. We can provide assistance for children with special needs as well as practical support after an injury. Examples of conditions we support at home include:
- Myofibroma
- Cerebral Palsy
- Tracheostomy
- Premature babies with associated conditions
- Respiratory support (Bipap, CPAP,ventilation)
How we work
Our professional, experienced and friendly team members are passionate about the services we offer. We meet each baby or child at home and sometimes prior to leaving hospital to ensure that we deliver services safely and effectively. We produce a holistic plan describing the care and support that the PULSE@Home team will provide each baby or child.
The plan is totally individual and created for each baby or child describing the care chosen to be delivered and the support that the PULSE@Home team will provide. We can provide daily or live-in care through to around the clock support.
We can ensure rapid response home assessment where necessary, enabling early discharge from hospital and avoiding unnecessary re-admission. Our services include support for a specific condition through to complex packages.
Our clients
We plan in partnership with the different authorities and organisations that may be involved with arranging nursing and care services. These include continuing care teams, intermediate care teams and hospital discharge teams to ensure support is individual to each client and any transition from hospital to home is as smooth as possible.
All our clients can be assured that the staff we provide to them are carefully selected to meet their needs. For each worker we place we consider their experience and skills to ensure they offer the specialist paediatric care that is needed.
