Locum Medical Officer needed in Tristan da Cunha, one of the most remarkable places in the world

Pulse International is looking for a locum Medical Officer for 2 – 3 months from early September, pending the arrival of a permanent Medical Officer in Tristan da Cunha.

The successful candidate must be able to embark from Capetown in early September.

Tristan da Cunha, in the South Atlantic, is the most remote inhabited island in the world. It’s an overseas territory of the United Kingdom and has a population of less than 300 people.

The successful applicant will be a very experienced doctor with surgical, anaesthetic, obstetric & gynaecology skills. He/she will be the only medical practitioner on the island. He/she should be English-speaking and fully-registered in the UK or with equivalent medical council.

Also, you’ll be home for Christmas!

(As this is a locum post the cost of bringing partner/family will not be covered. However the post holder may choose to cover these costs and bring the family, subject to a disclaimer.)

Accommodation for the doctor will be provided in a fully-furnished house adjacent to the island’s hospital.
