Pulse International is looking for an Clinical Director of Nursing, Infection Control & Staff Well-being (Occupational Health) for an exciting new healthcare project focused on women and children, in Qatar.
Scheduled to open shortly, the Sidra Medical and Research centre will offer the latest technology and equipment to meet world-class standards in patient care, medical education and biomedical research.
There will be a sophisticated clinical and translational research programme, general adult medical and surgical services and specialty care for women and children. The centre will be a teaching venue for medical students at Weill Cornell Medical College - a branch of the prestigious Ivy League university in New York.
This Director has responsibility for the Infection Prevention Control service and the Occupational Health and Staff Wellbeing Clinic.
Overall, this is primarily a prevention-orientated service involved in risk assessment, risk management and pro-active strategies aimed at promoting the health and safety of patients, families and staff
Both Departments will take the lead in and ensure compliance with Sidra responsibilities associated with infection control and health and safety legislation and best practice will be championed across both services
Direct reports are: the Manager Infection Prevention Control, the Manager Staff Health & Wellbeing, and one Administrative Assistant
The Director - Infection Prevention Control and Staff Wellbeing has a pivotal role in the co-ordination and management of activities and resources of inpatient and outpatient areas for infection prevention and for the development and implementation of a comprehensive Staff Health and Wellbeing Service
The Director - Infection Prevention Control and Staff Wellbeing will work as a key member of the management team and will assume 24 hour accountability for overall management and delivery of Infection Prevention and Staff Wellbeing services to achieve optimal patient outcomes and staff Wellbeing and to meet the commissioning, service activation and ongoing operational needs
The Director of Infection Prevention Control and Staff Wellbeing is accountable to the Chief Nursing and Allied Health Officer, ensuring that the standards for infection prevention and control practice are adhered to, and maintaining and sustaining comprehensive and continuous Staff Health and Wellbeing Services.
In collaboration with other service areas the Director - Infection Prevention Control and Staff Wellbeing ensures that recruiting, commissioning, on-boarding, orientation and service activation responsibilities are carried out in accordance with operational activities and timelines
The successful candidate for this post will be a Registered Nurse with a Master’s degree in Nursing or a healthcare-related area with a degree or diploma in management.
Ten years’ progressive senior management experience in Infection Control nursing management, with two years’ experience at Director level in Infection Control or Occupational Health are required.
