Pulse International is looking for a Consultant Radiologist for a 181-bed teaching hospital in the South Island.
The hospital, rebuilt in 2004, is a state-of-the-art facility providing healthcare to a population of 107,000 over a wide geographical area. It’s equipped with the latest in PACS, digital radiology, MRI, CT and ISOFT patient management system.
The medical imaging department is well appointed for a hospital of its size with a 1.5T MRI Scanner, 16-slice CT Scanner which is shortly to be replaced with a new 64-slice scanner, alongside X-Ray, Ultrasound, Mammography and Nuclear Medicine capabilities. The Department services the imaging needs of emergency, medicine, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology and rehabilitation wards as well as a wide range of outpatient clinics.
This area of the South Island offers a wide range of recreational activities. It is home to two of New Zealand's national parks offering superb hiking and scenery, whilst internationally acclaimed fishing and a wide range of other outdoor pursuits are also available. Five top New Zealand snowboarding/skiing destinations are also within easy driving distance.
Candidates should have completed their specialist training and be eligible for vocational registration with Medical Council of New Zealand. The post offers an attractive remuneration package, relocation assistance and CME allowance.
