Clinical Pharmacist
Role Purpose:
· The Pharmacist will provide an efficient and high quality pharmacy service to all our customers, and will participate in the clinical pharmacy services.


Key Accountabilities:

· Supervise and dispense inpatient and outpatient prescriptions in line with departmental procedures, in a timely fashion and current legislation.

· Provide daily pharmaceutical input for patients within the hospital.

· Provide a drug information service.

· Ensure that medication requests from other departments are met.

· Manage the pharmacy inventory using the live stock control system

· Ensure all relevant pharmaceuticals administered are charged to the correct patient

· Attend meetings of multi-disciplinary groups as required.

· Organise workflow on a day-to-day basis.

· To support and assist in the development of other staff within the department and other hospital departments

· Contribute to setting and meeting departmental goals and objectives.

· Be responsible for the input of charges for medication to be put on patients accounts.

· Maintain patient confidentiality all times.

· Responsibility for departmental risk assessment is required, and ensuring that regulations relating to pharmacy are actively applied within the hospital.


Qualifications
BSc (Hons) / MPharm or equivalent in Pharmacy
Mandatory: Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
Optional: Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (MRPharmS)

Skills/Knowledge
Prescription monitoring skills.
Knowledge of clinical pharmacy.
Familiarity with reference sources of information.
Knowledge of drugs used in chemotherapy (desirable)
Stock management skills.
PC skills
Knowledge of patient focused care.
Ability to organize and prioritise.
Awareness of current legislation relating to Pharmacy services.
Financial awareness
CPD

Experience
Hospital pharmacy experience is desirable
Oncology experience is desirable.
