Chief Cardiac Technician

Job Description

Job Summary: To strategically and operationally manage and develop cardiology services and structures, embracing continuous quality improvement and the management of changes necessary to achieve Hospital objectives. The fundamental philosophy guiding this position is to promote and preserve the Bon Secours Mission, Values and Ethos.
You will be able to:
Manage the department by providing strategic, operational and clinical leadership, which results in the delivery of effective, efficient, quality assured and patient centred Cardiology service.
Lead, manage and motivate the Cardiology Team, ensuring optimum and effective use of staff and delegating responsibility and accountability as appropriate
Develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care, and set and monitor standards of practice
Keep the Hospital Manager/Cardiologists and appropriate Heads of Department appraised of any significant development within his/her area of responsibility

Person Specification
1. Possess the MPPM Certificate and/or MSCST qualification from the Society of Cardiological Technicians or equivalent
2. Be an associate of the Society of Cardiological Technicians
3. Have excellent supervisory, interpersonal and communication skills and a high capacity for responsibility and individual initiative
4. Be able to demonstrate adoptability to the rapid changes taking place in the Hospital
5. Management qualification is desirable
