Pulse Staffing are very pleased to be offering the following opportunity to work for one the the countries best know Private Healthcare Providers. Our Client requires ODP's with experience in Orthopaedics.

Salary Neg, hours Felixable (Part time or Full Time)

Purpose
To ensure that standards of patient care are consistently maintained in accordance with agreed operational policies as a skilled member of the theatre anaesthetic team. To promote and safeguard the well-being of patients and colleagues. To assist senior theatre staff in the management of the theatre.

Context
Our Client is part of a very well know private sector healthcare provider, which operates 52 acute care hospitals in the UK. It is an acute care hospital with 23 beds, one operating theatre and supporting services such as X-Ray, Physiotherapy, Endoscopy, Health Screening, Pharmacy and Outpatients.

There is a close relationship with the local NHS hospital through contracts supplying pharmaceutical, pathology and occupational health services.

Acute care hospital accepting planned and emergency surgical and medical admissions. Consultants, patients and relatives need to be dealt with sensitively and efficiently in order to retain their custom.

Dimensions
- Theatre team consists of Theatre manager, sister, RGNs, ODPs, ODAs TSSU and clerical staff
- The theatre is part of the clinical team within the hospital and is under the management of the Director of Nursing.
- General Healthcare Group has c13,000 contracted staff spread over 40+ sites nationwide.

Key Outputs
- To plan and implement the care of individual patients whilst in the theatre team
- To ensure that all patients are received safely into the theatre and that all patient checks are made in accordance with hospital procedure
- To participate in all areas of theatre activity and recovery
- To maintain safe custody and record keeping for medicines
- To maintain adequate stocks of consumables within the anesthetic room
- To ensure correct checking procedures for anaesthetic equipment prior to lists/cases
- To have full working knowledge of all equipment used within the anaesthetic room
- To ensure that all equipment is in full working order and report any defects to the Theatre manager
- To ensure that all relevant patient documentation is available before transfer of patient into the theatre
- To take part in the theatre rota and on-call as required
- To assist in the orientation of new theatre personnel
- To participate in the hospital quality assurance programme and adhere to the HQS standards
- To participate in the hospital appraisal programme
- To maintain knowledge of Data Protection Act in terms of patient records
- Provide support and teaching to other members of the disciplinary team sharing knowledge, experience and skills
- Ensure patient confidentially at all times
- To assist the Consultant anesthetists as required throughout all procedures
- To assist in other theatre duties as required by Theatre Manager
- To attend any mandatory training and meetings as directed by Theatre Manager or Director of Nursing

Qualifications
ODP
Member of Association of Operating department practitioners (AODP)

Experience
Role may be taken on immediately following qualification using the “1,2,3” scale, where: 1=Basic, 2=Important, 3=Critical our client has rated the following:
