Job Title - Scrub Nurse
Location – Runcorn
Salary – Up to £28k dependant on experience
My client provides high quality, specialist Orthopaedic services at two Treatment Centres in Runcorn and also operate an outreach clinic in the centre of Liverool. Any patient registered with a GP in England can choose to be referred to one of our centres and treated free of charge.
Job role
Under minimal supervision, provides patient care to a group of patients. Assumes primary responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care.
Responsibilities
1. Works as part of a multidisciplinary team and determines nursing interventions based on assessment data; prioritises identified needs, implements nursing actions and evaluates patient outcomes
2. Maintains accurate clinical records and databases and participate in the development of standards, procedures and protocols.
3. Performs advanced or specialised nursing skills competently and independently. Maintains current knowledge of clinical nursing practice.
4. Demonstrates an awareness of and facilitates evidence-based practice.
5. Participates in the allocation of workload and ensures efficient bed management and effective patient care.
6. Undertakes ability to working as in-charge of the clinical area.
7. Engages and interacts with carers/family encouraging them to be actively involved in patient’s care planning.
8. Acts as a mentor to new staff, participates in induction programmes, guides practice, and assists in assessing competence to develop staff.
9. Actively participates in continuing education, patient education and CQI activities.
10. Participates in progressive improvement/quality improvement programs to improve clinical practice.
11. Maintains confidentiality of all information and material received or communicated at the Treatment Centre.
12. Performs other professional duties as may be assigned within his/her scope and ability
Experience needed
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing
• Current practicing registration from country of training/origin (If applicable)
• Active registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council UK
Minimum two (2) years’ recent related experience in area of specialisation
Ability to understand written and verbal communication; English essential
Basic IT skills are essential
