PULSE are currently welcoming applications from experienced Senior Respiratory Physiologist (top Band 5 or Band 6) to work for a leading NHS Trust based in London.

The hospital is the largest heart and lung centre in the UK and among the largest in Europe. They are a partnership of two specialist hospitals which are known throughout the world for their expertise, standard of care and research success.

Salary: £29,797 - £39,516 + Excellent Benefits package.

The appropriate candidate will hold a BSc degree in Clinical Physiology (or equivalent qualification). You will also have experience of hospital-based physiological measurement; Basic understanding of sleep studies;Good understanding of lung function;Familiarity of ventilatory support equipment including NIV and CPAP.

It is also desirable to have a relevant professional qualification (ARTP Part 1/Part 2). You should be registered with RCCP or at least eligible for registration.

The successful candidate will be required to work closely with all the consultants and other clinical physiologists in the department including members of the multi-disciplinary team. It is essential that you are self motivated and have good communication skills.

You will play an active role working in this busy prestigious department and will be involved with setting up sleep studies with a particular emphasis on full polysomnographic studies including sleep scoring and staging. You will also set up patients on non-invasive ventilators (NIV) and also CPAP. You will have to provide a “smartcard” reporting service for the department with consultant supervision.
