Description
My client specialises in the research, development and marketing of animal vaccines. A position has now arisen for a production assistant to join their existing live culture team.
As a production assistant you will be responsible for supporting technicians with equipment and sample preparation in order to contribute to the processing of antigens. Duties will include:
-Use of autoclave to clean and steralise laboratory instrumentation
-Preparation of media plates for fermentation
-Perform equipment readings and calibrations where necessary
-Assist with environmental monitoring
-Maintaining cleanliness and documentation within the production area.
This position is based in a production facility (not a laboratory) and will therefore require the use of safety equipment and sterile gowning.
Suitable applicants will be educated to A-level (or equivalent) in a scientific discipline and will preferably have experience in a production facility or manufacturing laboratory. High levels of accuracy and attention to detail are essential to work in this demanding fast-paced environment. Training will be provided on use of equipment required for this position.
In return, my client offers a permanent position with an annual salary of ?16,000-18,000 dependant upon experience.
