Description

One of our major clients is looking for Surgical Staff Nurses in the Basingstoke and North Hampshire area. The main hospital in Basingstoke provides a comprehensive range of acute services, including a Diagnostic and Treatment Centre, along with a number of important tertiary services that have regional or national significance.

To support these aims, the Trust has built a state of the art Conference and Training Centre with an extensive Library with full internet access. Post-qualifying funded courses - Learning Beyond Registration are available through Southampton University for stand-alone modules or degree pathways.

Surgery – dedicated to patient care and learning and participating in the development of services, you will be based in our surgical wards, where you will gain experience in specialist areas which will help develop your nursing skills and expertise.

Main Responsibilities and Duties
To assist and support senior nursing staff in all aspects of their duties and responsibilities.

To maintain and continually strive to improve the standard of care provided to patients.

To use research based developments in clinical practice to provide a high standard of Nursing Care.

To encourage and direct use of research bases developments in clinical practice to provide a high standard of Nursing Care.

To ensure a high standard of patient care is delivered at all times in accordance with current research based nursing practice.

To assist in the development and use of auditing aspects of clinical practice.

To assist the Ward Sister in setting, delivering and monitoring nursing standards to ensure the delivery of a quality of service.

To participate with Medical Staff and other members of the multi-disciplinary team in co-ordinating the management of patient care.

To ensure that all clinical and legal documents are both accurate and legible and that nurses understand their relevance and the confidentiality of their nature.

Taking responsibility for the care and custody of patient’s property.

To advise on the promotion of health and the prevention of illness.

If necessary, escort patients to other care facilities, e.g. hospitals, in an ambulance.
