This Ward provides primary nursing care to an often complex and challenging patient population. You will have the great support of an experienced Nurse Manager and leadership team. Nursing care is provided by clinicians in a team environment that fosters collaboration, communication and interaction.
The Neurosurgery Department provides full inpatient and outpatient neurosurgical services. The seven neurosurgeons, three of whom are full time staff treat the full range of intracranial and spine disorders. The unit treats around 900 patients annually, with around 50% being elective and 50% emergency. Trauma cases account for approximately 35% of the caseload.
Our client is committed to providing excellence in neurosurgical care, through quality management, education & training of healthcare professionals and clinical and laboratory research. The Neurosurgery department has developed sub-specialisation in Cerebrovascular Service, Spine Surgery, Skull base surgery, Neurotrauma & Neuro-Oncology. They have an Acute Neurosurgical Care Area (ANCA) where patients are recovered and monitored using Hewlett Packard monitoring systems.
